PROCUREMENT MANAGER

CHENNAI PROCUREMENT Permanent 10–18 years total experience
Experience • Minimum 5+ years in procurement leadership role • Experience in EPC / Construction / Infrastructure projects • Exposure to: Material procurement + Subcontract procurement ✔ Must have handled : ✅ Procurement Lifecycle • MR → RFQ → TBE → CBE → PO → Delivery → Closeout ✅ Vendor Management • Vendor identification & development • Vendor evaluation & prequalification ✅ Negotiation & Cost Saving • Commercial negotiations • Cost reduction strategies • Rate finalization ✅ Subcontract Procurement (VERY IMPORTANT) • Civil / MEP subcontract packages • Rate analysis • BOQ-based procurement ✅ Contractual Awareness • PO terms & conditions • LD clauses • Payment terms • Basic contract understanding ✅ Cross-Functional Coordination • Engineering • Planning • QA/QC • Site team ✅ Procurement Planning • Procurement schedule • Long lead item tracking 💻 Systems & Tools Knowledge • ERP systems: SAP / Oracle / similar • Excel (advanced) : Procurement dashboards , Cost tracking tools 🏗 Project & Package Exposure: Candidate must have experience to handled Materials such as : • Steel, cement, MEP equipment • Electrical panels, HVAC, piping Subcontracts: • Civil works • MEP works • Finishing packages Project size: • ₹100 Cr+ (India) OR $15M+ (International) 🧩 Role Clarity ✔ Candidate has: • Taken ownership of procurement decisions • Led procurement team 📈 Leadership & Team Handling Must have: • Managed team of: o Procurement engineers o Buyers ✔ Minimum team size: 3+ 🌍 Geographic Advantage Preferred: • Middle East (Saudi/UAE) experience • EPC contractor background • Multi-project handling
